Mould breaking firm
For the firm that has created innovative approaches to doing business that have improved its commercial prospects as well as breaking the mould.
2002 WINNER

Diana Parker of Withers with Michael Goldhaber of American Lawyer Media
The judges were looking for firms that had taken a truly creative approach to their business overall, an approach that set them apart from their peers. While all finalists demonstrated this in different ways it was felt that the top three firms best met the criteria.
The most innovative approach and one that sets the firm apart from its competitors was, however, judged to be that of Withers. Withers carried out a trans-Atlantic merger and adopted a US LLP structure. A significant amount of management time and effort went into putting together the merger as well as in putting together the LLP structure. A new organisation and management structure was developed along with new systems and processes. A major effort indeed and one that the judges saw making Withers clearly the Mould Breaking Firm of the year.
