Lovells' Anchovy offering outshone the competition by demonstrating a clear understanding of a highly specialized client business need to protect brands on the Internet globally and showcasing the ability of the firm's lawyers, IT organization, and staff to develop and support a commercially successful, on-line service that satisfies an important client business problem and distinguishes Lovells as an innovator able to use technology effectively to seize a real competitive advantage in the legal marketplace.

RUNNER UP

Eversheds continues to exploit the creative use of technology for client advantage with the introduction of two new e-learning training courses in employment and labor law. Although the offerings are not entirely innovative in concept, Eversheds is to be commended for teamwork, excellence of execution, and achieving a positive return on investment.

3RD PLACE

Clifford Chance is recognised for its effective combination of off-the-shelf software and creative solution to global network bandwidth limitations to support its lawyers in the development of an impressive portfolio of video-based e-learning courses delivered electronically to its in-house lawyers on a world-wide basis and on demand. While this portfolio makes little direct contribution to the firm's commercial success, it clearly contributes indirectly by helping to improve the timeliness, quality, and cost effectiveness of the firm's professional development efforts.
