Lifetime achievement
For the individual that has made a significant and sustained improvement to the leadership and management of one or more professional firms, whether as managing partner or external consultant.
2006 WINNER
Richard Chaplin of Managing Partners' Forum with Alan Hodgart
This year sees the first presentation of the MPF Lifetime Achievement Award. It is an opportunity for the MPF to say thanks to someone who has been probably the most influential person in the field of law firm management - shaping the thinking and actions of countless managing and senior partners over the years, and in so doing helping to shape the destiny of their firms and arguably the whole industry.
For a life time of challenging 'conventional wisdom', of driving the thinking, and of setting the agenda - and still doing it ... the inaugural MPF Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented to a true giant amongst management consultants, Alan Hodgart.
Alan is the consummate professional - never shirking the tough message but always delivering it with empathy. Not everyone may agree with what he has said or written - but people always take note.
He is seen by many as the most authoritative commentator on professional firms. He has been driving the management agenda for over 15 years. He has even been responsible for the introduction of a new verb to the English language - as managing partners often claim to have been 'hodgarted'.
