2007 WINNER
The team at Lovells with Patti Groff (right) of sponsors ALA
The judges consider the Lovells partnership with Cass to be innovative in the legal sector. The financial commitment made by the firm is also impressive, as is the global reach of the programme. Generally speaking, lawyers often claim to understand their clients’ business and speak their language – a claim not always supported by corporate clients. This programme gives lawyers the lawyers the knowledge and skill to connect with their clients on strategic and business issues.
2ND PLACE
The judges consider the Freshfields’ Real Deal programme to be a practical and intensive way to develop capabilities relevant to managing major transactions. The judges were particularly impressed by the level of partner involvement in the programme and see the programme as meeting both learning and knowledge management outcomes.
3RD PLACE
While coaching programmes are not particularly innovative in the professional services sector, the judges consider the particular strength of the Eversheds’ coaching programme to be the extent to which the firm has integrated coaching skills and behaviours into its culture and practice. Its links to performance management, reward and competencies, its place within group meetings and the planned follow up are impressive.
EUROPEAN WINNER 2007
The team at Perez-Llorca with Patti Groff (right) of sponsors ALA
The judges considered the Perez-Llorca TESEO programme to be a comprehensive technical programme, which has been continuously improved over the last two years with lawyer feedback. There is a strong commitment from practitioners to share knowledge, leading to effective learning and knowledge management outcomes for the firm.
