The team at Allen & Overy

Allen & Overy

Allen & Overy LLP clearly demonstrates benefit in methodical facility programming, dynamic teamwork (especially in communicating via specialised newsletter), and commitment to holistic approach to management of facilities. This firm lives and breathes who they are, what they do, and why they matter. They have embraced corporate stewardshipAllen & Overyto include not only their investment into carrying a green footprint, but also bearing the socio-mantle of their employees’ health and wellbeing through various amenities, including “team” sports hall. Facility was brought online with ROI strategies on investment in a “five-star hotel” building model; would have loved to see employee feedback via post-occupancy questionnaires/interviews. Corporate art commission for facility helps visually anchor firm culture and business practice.

2ND PLACE

Bevan Brittan LLP

Bevan Brittan LLP offered solid statistical information, especially in terms of the facility Carbon Performance Rating which is 60% less than acceptable allowance. Brilliant performance; appreciate that a visitor survey was conducted post-occupancy. The extensive refurbishment programme demonstrates an investment in the firm’s community at-large,Bevan Brittan LLP more so in re-purposing a vacant, deteriorating structure to suit its corporate needs even with 30,000 sq.ft. extension. This alone is in harmony with firm’s business focus on the advisement of major regeneration schemes within the city and across UK. Facility pictures demonstrate smart use of natural light especially within building core areas. Feedback suggests employees are rather satisfied with new office structure (backed up by 13% improvement on measured productivity).

3RD PLACE

Berwin Leighton Paisner

Berwin Leighton Paisner has undertaken second most taxing facility challenge short of bringing a new structure online. Occupied renovations are challenging with swing space considerations, work disruption, new technology integration, construction debris, etc. to be taken into account. Would have appreciated seeing renovation in-progress photos to demonstrate effective tactics as indicated in clarification statement, as well as before pictures. Berwin Leighton PaisnerApplaud corporate commitment to resist upheaval in having staff readied for facility relocation (hence the slightly higher marks for staff benefit, includes allowance for areas suited to cyclists and joggers), especially appreciate angle of honouring a former “grand dame” of London’s business corridor/district. Feedback, both client and employees, would have been fantastic to round out overall picture in why this entrant should win.
