DTZ’s rationalisation and move within their London estate delivered immense benefits to the firm including a tangible impact on absenteeism as well as improved staff morale. The improved team work facilitated by the new collaboration areas has resulted in new business wins and the feedback from clients touching down in the new offices and using the rooftop terrace has been exceptional. With the project team’s work being described by some as ‘synchronized swimming’ the management of the project and communication to those affected led to a best-in-class example of intelligent use of space.

2ND PLACE

In its three-year strategic change programme EC Harris used an office move as a catalyst for change. The project team took the interesting approach of splitting into two separate streams, one to focus on the physical aspects of the building and the other on the business transformation programme. The results are impressive, an increase in net margin, reduction in overheads and improved utilisation to name but a few. Significantly, based on its success, this UK led initiative has now been rolled out globally.

3RD PLACE

Following 50% growth in a three-year period Speechly Bircham needed to radically address their property requirements and did so by moving to prestigious new offices in the city. The project’s objectives included creating a work environment which reinforced and reflected their integrated and collaborative team working culture and that theme permeates throughout the new space. As well as creating an open plan environment which has enhanced communication they have stepped up to the environmental challenge and reduced their carbon footprint by 42%.
