A&L Goodbody

As part of their Step Up community involvement programme, A&L Goodbody are focusing on a long term project to improve declining levels of literacy among young people in local disadvantaged communities. Since 2013, the firm has worked with educational development organisation, Suas, to deliver literacy support programmes for young people aged 8 – 14. Over 150 ALG people have provided one to one reading support on a weekly basis. The results have shown a 70% increase in reading skills and understanding. ALG also provides funding and pro bono services for Suas and aims to reach over 2,000 children in future. At a time when reading skills are declining, this initiative provides practical assistance to young people in need.

Grant Thornton International

Grant Thornton International are expanding their community involvement scheme from local to global engagement. They now support a wide range of initiatives and aim to have 10,000 projects worldwide by 2020. Last September, they held their first group CSR day with 85 countries participating and GTI have become more actively involved with the Global Fund for Children. This worldwide project benefits from GTI’s international reach and will provide continuing benefits to local communities in future.
