Space Solutions have been considering sustainability in building design since early 2007. In March 2008 a dedicated Sustainability Team was set up advising clients on sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction. This team includes an accredited BREEAM Assessor and an Environmental Consultant who conducts Environmental Opportunities Assessments.

Yes, we do provide carbon advisory services. As an assessment we provide an Environmental Opportunities Assessment (EOA) looking at current environmental performance of an office (energy, water and waste) and then provide recommendations quantifying potential carbon emission reductions and financial savings. As part of the EOA service, consultancy in the implementation of the recommendations is given including design, management and maintenance support.

GHG Emission calculations use DEFRA guidance, and where requested by client the specific fuel mix calculation figures as disclosed by 'The Electricity (Fuel Mix Disclosure) Regulations 2005' are used for electricity consumption. Conversion factors for water supply and treatment use Aquavitae (2008).
