EVENTS
Meetings are run locally in New York and provide both educational and networking opportunities for managing partners and other senior members of the management team. MPF New York connects the local professional services community with the wider MPF network, whilst generating real value for members closer to home. As a membership organisation, all our meetings are member only. However, those interested in joining are welcome to attend one event as our guest in order to get a feel for the Panel. KNOWLEDGE
The MPF collects confidential data and conducts regular surveys amongst MPs and members of the management team based worldwide. Leading consultants in strategy and leadership, appointed by the MPF Executive Committee, prepare monthly surveys on strategy and leadership issues, summarise findings, and make presentations at MPF events held in key cities worldwide (London, New York, Frankfurt etc). AWARDS
We organise the European Practice Management Awards, the only competition to focus on the contribution of different disciplines to managing a professional firm. Widely recognised as the premier Awards in Europe for those with practice management roles, the competition has been running since 2002.
COMMITTEE
Regional Director: Bruce MacEwen - Bruce is a New York-based lawyer and consultant to law firms on strategic, economic, and management issues. He founded "Adam Smith, Esq.", which generates over 300,000 page views per month, providing insights into the business of sophisticated law firms. Bruce has published over 800 articles on "Adam Smith, Esq." on the economics of law firms, covering such topics as strategy, leadership, globalization, M&A, finance, compensation, cultural considerations, and partnership structures. His consulting practice focuses on strategic planning, merger analysis, and financial issues. Bruce frequently appears as a speaker or panelist at law firm partner retreats and off-sites and at legal industry conferences domestically and abroad, covering strategy, finance, and IT.
Frank Burch - Frank is Joint Chief Executive Officer of DLA Piper, one of the largest law firms in the world. He is a partner in the litigation group concentrating on securities, corporate, and business tort litigation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Law Institute and a trustee of Johns Hopkins University. He graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Maryland School of Law.
Roy Hoffman with more than 25 years of experience advising clients on accounting, business management and personal finance issues Roy has counseled many large and small foreign clients who have created U.S. subsidiaries or have acquired U.S. operations. Active in industry, Roy is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (“NYSSCPA”) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Cooperation with Investment Bankers and Stock Exchanges Committee of the NYSSCPA.
