For the management team that has created an environment where anyone can feel comfortable and has the chance to shine, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, disability, personality type or thinking style.
The judges were impressed with Grant Thornton's social mobility programme. Running since 2013 and assessed independently, they have been able to show that removing academic entry requirements and making recruitment more open has had no impact on performance. In fact those joining through this path have performed as well as, or better than, those recruited through the traditional criteria. It has also strengthened their ability to tender successfully. Grant Thornton have shared their experiences more widely and are seen as leaders for good practice beyond their profession and have been able to promote the benefits to their clients as well.
